Before she even understood what it meant to be a public relations specialist, Takeira Nettles was already one at heart. As a child, she nurtured a love for storytelling, often creating her own mini-news segments and interviews, eager to learn and share the world around her. This early curiosity evolved into a passion for writing and reporting, where her words not only expressed her voice but also amplified the voices of others.
Takeira’s journey led her to Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, where she immersed herself in the Broadcast Journalism program at the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication, also known as “J-School.” There, she honed her skills, learning the value of persistence, adaptability, and the power of believing in oneself. Her experiences reinforced that public relations is more than a career—it is a commitment to truth, storytelling, and societal impact.
For Takeira, public relations is a labor of love. She recognizes the meticulous work that goes on behind the scenes, from researching to verifying facts, and she approaches each story with care and integrity. With an eye for meaningful narratives, she continues to pursue opportunities that allow her to uncover stories that matter, empower communities, and shape the world—one story at a time.
